I found a decently price 13.3 inch touch screen that is advertised as a Portable Monitor which I planned to use as the screen for the remote.

One monitor to act as the remote and the other as the main display for showing video content.

The Teams Room System software first of all requires at least 2 monitors. It turns out that it’s not as simple as that. I started doing some research into building my own solution since the Teams Room System software is freely available from the Microsoft store I thought that I should be able to just install it on a regular PC running Windows with a web cam. I was sad to find that most solutions did not fit the budget that I had set aside for video conferencing. The Poly Studio X and G7500 series enterprise conferencing systems run the Zoom Rooms application natively with no PC required. For the past few months I’ve been researching several conference room system solutions mostly centered around equipment that was designed to work with Microsoft Teams since our entire organization utilizes the Office 365 platform, integration with Teams in the conference room seemed like a seamless solution. We have a great selection of Zoom Room kits, cameras, and audio solutions. Zoom Rooms is a bit more flexible in that it is supported by most Windows, Android, and MAC computers so that a Zoom Rooms hardware kit can be a bit more A La Carte. There are two collaboration bars that run the Teams Room software with no PC required, which are the Poly Studio X and Yealink VC210. Certified Teams Room kits are available from Logitech, Yealink, and Poly. The Teams Room software allows to pair with a touch control for starting and joining meetings. Microsoft Teams Rooms software is available when you purchase a certified Teams Room hardware kit. While there are a few differences between Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms, the primary similarity is that the Room level solution are designed for use with that service and are not meant to use different applications interchangeably.

Both offer high-end hardware, touch control ability, and assign the account to a room rather than to an individual.

If you have a meeting space that you want a a dedicated high-end Teams or Zoom system in, a Teams Room or Zoom Room is going to be the best option.
